Octane Fest features Monster Truck back flip and Bounty Hunter
FALLON, April 2014—The first-ever Monster Truck 360 degree back flip in northern Nevada will be attempted at the Monster Truck Jamboree at Northern Nevada Toyota Dealers’ Octane Fest, June 13-15.
“Jimmy Creten driving Iron Outlaw will attempt the 360 on Saturday’s show only,” WGAS and Octane Fest promoter, John Borba, said. “We’ll have two days of Monster Trucks this year and Friday’s show will feature a free pit party for those with tickets. And, Bounty Hunter, a Monster Truck icon, will be here on both days,” Borba said.
Founded in 2008, Octane Fest is famous for combining dirt track racing, drag racing, freestyle motocross, and Monster Trucks in an action packed three days of motorsports. This is the first year the Monster Truck Jamboree will take place on two evenings.
“Motorsports are a part of the racing culture in Fallon. Rattlesnake Raceway oval dirt track is the oldest racing venue in Nevada. Top Gun Raceway is one of the nicest drag strips in NHRA Division 7 racing,” tourism director, Rick Gray, said. A Sand Mountain component is planned for the future. Sand Mountain is a dune 25 miles east of Fallon.
The event kicks-off with a Monster Truck Jamboree on Friday, June 13 that includes a free pit party and a freestyle motocross competition, mud drags and Monster Trucks at the Churchill County Fairgrounds. Saturday’s Monster Truck Jamboree will feature the back flip by Jimmy Creten driving Iron Outlaw. Both days feature the Monster Truck, Bounty Hunter. The event heats up as Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series opens up each day at the Top Gun Raceway June 13-15. The aggressive, high-speed, dirt track mayhem of pro modified racing blows through Rattlesnake Raceway on Saturday morning, June 14.
